This is a headline appearing on the home page of the Courier Journal today:

Biden openly tried to silence speech. Trump shouldn’t do the same.

So, you click on the link and see a story consisting of 25 paragraphs talking about censorship by the Trump administration. The very last paragraph of the story says this:

The Biden administration openly tried to silence speech it didn’t like. No matter how tragic the Kirk assassination, the Trump administration shouldn’t do the same. 

That’s all it has to say about the Biden administration. No indication in the text of what the censorship was. Nothing at all on a point-by-point comparison of “free-speech restrictions.”

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg says senior Biden administration officials pressured Facebook to “censor” some COVID-19 content during the pandemic and vowed that the social media giant would push back if it faced such demands again.

So, people are dying. Facebook is publishing bullshit about covid and the Biden administration says, “Hey, maybe you shouldn’t do that. People will die if they do what you say.”

And the CJ is equating that with Trump spreading lies about immigrants and saying safe cities are crime infested, and saying minorities are inferior and dangerous.

Also note that the mega billionaire Mark Zuckerberg said Facebook was being censored three months before the presidential election, an election he wanted Trump to win because he knew Trump, being a billionaire, would put billionaires’ interests before those of the general public.

What is wrong with this “news” organization? Are they stupid, or do they really believe that the diarrhea coming out of Trump’s mouth is the equivalent of the Biden administration saying Facebook, which only cares about clicks, should show some responsibility when it promotes content that can kill people?

That’s why the CJ is failing.
