Republican Congressman Andy Barr, who hasn’t met a town hall meeting he wouldn’t run away from, has announced he’s going to seek Mitch McConnell’s U.S. Senate seat.

Andy Barr made it official Tuesday: He’s running for U.S. Senate. The longtime Central Kentucky Congressman announced in a video posted to a campaign website Tuesday afternoon that he’s running to replace Sen. Mitch McConnell, who is not seeking reelection to his seat in 2026.
