Parts is parts, or does anybody know how to drive here?

In taking long, extensive walks around the city, the things that jump out at me aren’t the classy Victorian mansions throughout Old Louisville, the scores of blooming trees throughout the city or the new construction around the University of Louisville campus.

No, what I see is a lot of this:

That’s at the corner of Breckinridge and Jackson. This is a common feature of our streets: car wreck debris everywhere. I’m convinced no one knows how to drive, because this isn’t atypical of my walks.

Take a look:

Behind Corcoran Elementary School in Old Louisville
At the corner of Third Street and Tway Way
Crittenden Drive in front of Coit Cleaning
Crittenden Drive north of the I-65 overpass
Crittenden Drive South of the I-65 overpass.

These are just some of the pieces of debris you’ll see within a five-mile radius of Old Louisville. It must be the same throughout the city. Car repair shops must see booming business here. Or are they doing a bang-up job?
