You don’t need $100 million to be a complete douchebag, but this guy has managed to pull it off (from the CJ):
A Kentucky man who won a $167.3 million Powerball jackpot in April 2025 is facing charges related to public intoxication, according to an arrest citation.
James Farthing, 51, of Georgetown, was charged with alcohol intoxication in a public place. He was taken to Scott County Detention Center, though it is unclear if he is still being held.
According to an arrest citation, the Georgetown Police Department responded to a report of a white Mustang sitting in the middle of the Cherry Blossom Way and Connector Road intersection before parking at a nearby EV charging station around 2:57 a.m. Sept. 20.
When officers arrived, they reportedly found the Mustang running with Farthing asleep in the passenger seat. Police said Farthing woke up “after several minutes of knocking on the window and side of the vehicle.”
Where have we heard that name before? Let’s hop into a time machine to August 2025 (from WLKY):
Body camera footage has been released months after a Kentucky man, who won $167 million playing the Powerball, was arrested and accused of kicking a police officer in Florida.
James Farthing, of Georgetown, Kentucky, cashed his $167.3 million Powerball ticket on April 28.
Just days later, on May 2, Farthing was arrested in Pinellas County, Florida, for allegedly assaulting a police officer.
And we have video:
But that isn’t his only arrest.
How about this one?
And this one:
The guy has problems. He’s rich and stupid. If he had half a brain, he could have avoided his latest arrest by simply hiring a chauffeur.
Typical superrich behavior. He knows he can get away with anything because his newfound wealth will get him out of trouble. And we know if he commits a federal crime, the Orange Menace will give him a pardon, because the U.S. president can be bought.
