The image at the top says it all about the decrepit MAGA Republican representing Kentucky’s 5th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives. I’ll let Facebook say the rest:

Wow 88 year old Hal Rogers with infrastructure checks. Perhaps Hal forgot that when some moderate Republicans joined in to help pass the Biden infrastructure bill in 2022- Rogers not only voted no- he issued a press release complaining that the infrastructure spending was leading us to “socialism.”

Is this a gathering of socialists?

Rogers is typical MAGA. Complaining about how government is really socialism (though I don’t think he even knows what that means since he’s a parrot for Fox News talking points), then taking credit for important funding that he voted against.

He’s been in the U.S. House for 45 years representing the Appalachian region of eastern Kentucky. According to his local television station WOWK 13 News:

Rogers is vying for his 24th term in office. He has served Kentucky’s 5th Congressional District since 1981, having been previously elected to 23 consecutive terms. He is currently the longest-serving member of the House, becoming Dean of the House in March 2022. He is also the longest-serving Congress member for Kentucky, according to his website. 

If he’s too addled to remember how he votes or what he really stands for, he should retire.

He has a Democratic opponent, but the odds of Rogers losing the vote is very small. Obviously, he feels he can get away with duping the citizens with whom he’s supposed to be honest, because he’s been able to do it for the past 45 years.
