What’s in a name?

Michigan had a primary for the U.S. Senate, and this was the result:

Abdul El-Sayed has narrowly won the Democratic nomination for Senate in Michigan, according to a race call by The Associated Press. The result marks a win for the progressive wing of the party, with El-Sayed defeating Rep. Haley Stevens, who had the backing of party centrists.

So of course, MAGA morons have decided the best way to rally their side was to pull this crap on the winner pictured above:

Moments after Abdul El-Sayed narrowly won his Michigan Senate primary, Republicans released their first general election attack ad against him — this time, using his full name.

Ahead of El-Sayed’s November matchup against Republican former Rep. Mike Rogers, the National Republican Senatorial Committee and other GOP officials began to draw attention to the Democrat’s full name: Abdulrahman Mohamed El-Sayed.

Gee, where have I heard that before?

Donald Trump has spent years needling rivals with nicknames, often referring to the 44th president as “Barack Hussein Obama” in a tone meant to sound suspicious or foreign.

And let’s not even start on New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani and the treatment he gets from this Rupert Murdock owned rag:

So, it’s open season on politicians’ names?

Let’s apply this to Kentucky politics.

Here in the Bluegrass State, we have a racist, immigrant-hating, transphobic, Orange-pustule fluffer running as the Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate seat held by Schrodinger’s senator.

What was his name again?

Garland Hale Barr IV!

Wait a minute! Wasn’t that a character in “Gilligan’s Island?” You know, the pompous elitist rich guy!

Oh! And the MAGAt who’s expected to get the GOP nomination for the next governor’s race!

James Richardson Comer Jr.

Were these guys parents so lazy that they couldn’t come up with a name other than one they had used for decades/centuries?

But that’s the GOP strategy. It’s an odious party, and since it’s screwing up the country and has nothing hopeful to offer, it uses the full names of opponents to create a sense of alienation and a trigger for xenophobia.

Democrats should use MAGA candidates’ full names, since the names seem to belong to elitist hacks.

Think about it: Is Bubba in the hollers going to vote for a guy with a pansy name like Garland?

Garland?! You mean the gay icon who sang, “Somewhere over the rainbow?”

See, we can play that game, too!
