I’ve only been blogging here for a couple of months, but I’ve already noted multiple times that demonstrations against the atrocities of the Space Nazi and his Orange Chia Pet are being severely undercounted in national and local media. And it’s not just happening here in the Bluegrass:
Which now makes us wonder: Is this intentional, or are they just fucking stupid?
The turnout in Louisville was originally reported as being in the hundreds, when it was actually in the thousands.
In the above video, note that the anchor says: “tens of thousands of people turned out.” Then not even two sentences later, he says, “more than 1,000 rallies were planned in small towns and major cities.”
Let’s do some basic math: There are a thousand rallies. In order for there to be tens of thousands of people turning out nationwide, which is what he implied at the beginning, that means each rally couldn’t contain more than 90 people. Ninety thousand is the maximum number you would have for “tens of thousands of people turning out nationwide. Ninety thousand doesn’t even fill the Rose Bowl. The correct wording should have been “millions of people turned out.” If Louisville had a couple of thousand people show up, which it actually did, that would have to mean that places like, oh, you know, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Denver, San Francisco, maybe had a few dozen to a couple of hundred each to reach the tens of thousands this idiot parroted.
And this guy is with PBS, which the MAGA morons swear is the epitome of evil leftist propoganda.
So, is the newsreader (because obviously he isn’t a journalist and doesn’t know what news is if he’s willing to read something so blatantly idiotic on national TV) just stupid, or has he been told that you can ignore liberal protests because if you don’t the MAGAts will complain and say nasty things about the network, and we won’t be able to give out our fancy tote bags when pledge week comes along?
And here in the Derby City, the local rag still has a story that says:
Hundreds gathered in downtown Louisville to voice concerns over President Donald Trump’s administration at a “Hands Off” protest — joining thousands of others globally on Saturday.
THOUSANDS GLOBALLY????!!!! We all know the C-J’s main mission is not to piss off the state’s MAGAts, which continually leads to ignoring the antisocial, borderline psychopathic actions that GOP legislators are inflicting on some of the poorest, most vulnerable and unhealthiest people in the nation … you know, their constituents.
There was also a protest in South Bend, Indiana. Here’s a photo by Michael Chubb at the South Bend Tribune from that rally:

It’s caption:
Thousands of local protesters on the side of Indiana 933 between Douglas Road and Angela Boulevard participate in the national “Hands Off!” rallies on Saturday, April 5, 2025, in South Bend, Ind. The protests are for what organizers call the President Donald Trump administration’s “ongoing attacks on democracy, public services, and the rights of everyday people.”
South Bend has a population of 103,000. Louisville has a population of 624,000. So, the Courier-Journal would have you believe that South Bend citizens care more about the future of this country than the residents of Louisville do.
And the C-J wonders why no one reads it anymore.
