Oz never did give nothing to this guy. So he’s in Bernheim

A new resident has arrived in Bernheim Forest. WHAS explains:

Bernheim Forest and Arboretum is welcoming another giant to Kentucky.

Standing 27-feet tall and named the “Heart of the Forest,” a towering Tin Man can now be found at the Jackson-Yoe trailhead.

Officials said the metal artwork, inspired by The Wizard of Oz, is more than just a striking sculpture.

“It is a powerful reminder of what it means to reconnect with the land,” officials explained in a news release Thursday.

Bernheim’s Tin Man, crafted by nationally recognized sculptor Bill Secunda, encourages guests to reflect on their relationship with nature and the emotional transformation that can come from leading with care and compassion.

It isn’t exactly the Haunted Forest. And as for wild animals:

You won’t find lions or tigers. But there are bears according to AI:

Yes, Bernheim Forest is home to black bears, with sightings having been reported there for years, and it was the first place black bears were seen in the area in a century in 2016. While the forest can support a small bear population, they are generally shy wild animals, and visitors are advised to keep a safe distance if they encounter one.

Meanwhile, this post is reminding me of my past. In reference to the headline here, I recalled that I was in New York in the late 1970s at the Central Park concert in the following clip:

I wasn’t one of the people running into the arena for a seat. I was sitting on a rock high up that had a complete view of the stage. It was like going to a stadium show and sitting in the farthest reaches of the upper deck.
