City officials say a Kroger in Germantown has passed inspection after taking the necessary steps to eliminate the source of a mouse infestation that closed the store all day June 15.
The Kroger, located at 1265 Goss Ave., reopened June 16 after an early-morning inspection from the Louisville Metro Department of Public Health and Wellness.
Shelves once obscured by gray curtains are now bared to the public and stripped of all products. The bread and pasta have been relocated to other aisles.
Health officials previously said three aisles showed signs of a rodent infestation, and employees were asked to remove all products and break down shelves to help start the extermination process.
Louisville Metro Health and Wellness Communications Director Kathy Turner said inspection crews will return to the Kroger for a follow-up inspection at the end of the week to ensure continued compliance and sustained progress.
