That’s the Kentucky Lantern’s headline on the following:
More than 2,600 nonviolent demonstrations against President Donald Trump’s administration are slated Saturday as part of No Kings day.
The second No Kings day, following another in June, is in response to what a broad coalition of liberal advocacy and labor organizations say is “the increasing authoritarian excesses and corruption of the Trump administration, which they have doubled down on since June.”
Organizers expect millions of Americans to join in peaceful events in Washington, D.C., across the country and internationally. Locations are pinpointed on a map on the organization’s website.
As we’ve noted in past posts, media outlets have been undercounting the protesters in demonstrations against the Trump regime while overcounting participants in pro-MAGA events. They seem to be coming to their senses. This appears in today’s New York Times article:
Some of the first protests scheduled in more than 2,600 cities and towns across the nation began on Saturday morning, part of a daylong mass demonstration that was expected to draw millions of people.
While this appears in the Washington Post, which actually acknowledged the No Kings protests in June were huge:
Millions of people are expected to attend “No Kings” protests across the country Saturday, according to organizers, voicing anger at what some say they see as increasingly authoritarian governance by the Trump administration.
This is the second round of “No Kings” gatherings since President Donald Trump returned to office in January. The first, in June, which took place on the president’s birthday, drew more than 5 million protesters, organizers said.
Meanwhile, the scumbags at the Wall Street Journal, owned by the Australian immigrant Rupert Murdoch, are going with this:
Republicans have cast events scheduled nationwide as un-American and suggest Democrats are seeking to prolong government shutdown.
And what can we expect from our “we won’t say anything to offend anyone” local news outlet?
Some Americans will once again exercise their right to protest this weekend by joining “No Kings” rallies and marches.
Saturday, Oct. 18, will mark another round of the “No Kings” protests, the latest in a series of mass demonstrations since President Donald Trump took office, in hundreds of big cities and small towns across the country.
Yep, that’s the Courier Journal, as usual, not taking a stand on anything, undercounting reality and being mealy mouthed.
