Mice sure love local Krogers

Do Louisville area Krogers have a great cheese selection?

Louisville Metro Public Health and Wellness officials said they found evidence of a mouse infestation at Kroger’s Holiday Manor Shopping Center location June 18, just days after two other stores were found to have evidence of mice or mice droppings.

The findings were shared with reporters during a June 23 conference call. Members of Metro Public Health’s food safety team said a complaint about mice had been filed to them June 17, and an inspection was conducted the next day.

Environmental Health Specialist Mya Aung said evidence of an active rodent infestation was found in multiple aisles, and that Kroger was ordered to close the affected aisles and move products from shelves. Kroger employees were also asked to thoroughly clean and sanitize affected areas, and coordinate pest control efforts with an outside company.

Three incidents in a short amount of time reflect badly on the entire supermarket chain. And these are the people who admitted they jacked up prices during the Biden administration, because they thought they could get away with it, and they’re still doing it:

Shoppers at Kroger, one of the nation’s largest grocery chains, have been unknowingly paying full price at checkout for scores of items—from meat and vegetables to juice, rice, and alcohol—that have been advertised as discounted or on sale, a monthslong investigation by Consumer Reports and other news organizations found.

CR, along with The Guardian and the Food & Environment Reporting Network (FERN), began checking grocery prices after learning that Kroger workers in Colorado who are currently in labor union negotiations with the company were alleging widespread errors on price labels—a problem they say has been going on for years and that Kroger is well aware of. The chain has also been called out by state inspectors for high rates of price tag errors and has defended itself against multiple class-action lawsuits alleging pricing errors, filed by Kroger customers in California, Illinois, Ohio, and Utah.
