This weekend in Harrisburg, Pa., an anti-Biden MAGA moron bombed the Governor’s Mansion. How do we know it was a MAGA moron?

[Cody]Balmer’s social media presence suggests he held staunch anti-government views. He often posted memes urging people to “become ungovernable” and reposted an artwork of a Molotov cocktail in 2022 with the slogan “Be the light you want to see in the world.”

He posted negative content about then-President Joe Biden and seemed to reject Biden’s 2020 presidential win. He shared posts on Facebook criticizing Biden during his term, including a picture with the text “Joe Biden owes me 2 grand” and a post that said “Biden supporters shouldn’t exist.”

Of course, it’s being played as just another example of a psychopath off his meds. But here’s what happened:

The arson attack lasted for several minutes. Shapiro and first lady Lori Shapiro, as well as other guests and staff, were inside the Harrisburg residence when the fire erupted around 2 a.m. No one was injured in the fire, and the governor’s family was safely evacuated. However, prosecutors said the residence sustained “substantial damage.”

Balmer, of Harrisburg, turned himself into the Pennsylvania State Police on Sunday and admitted to “harboring hatred towards Governor Shapiro.”

When asked during a police interview what he would have done if Shapiro found him inside the residence, “he advised he would have beaten him with his hammer,” the probable cause affidavit said.

What is it with these anti-government MAGA turds and hammers. Not that long ago, an idiot in San Francisco did this:

The man who was sentenced to 30 years in federal prison for attacking the husband of former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi with a hammer in their California home was given a life term without the possibility of parole on Tuesday following a separate state trial.

A San Francisco jury in June found David DePape guilty of charges including aggravated kidnapping, first-degree burglary and false imprisonment of an elder.

Before sentencing DePape to life for the kidnapping conviction, Judge Harry Dorfman rejected defense attorneys’ arguments that he be granted a new state trial for the 2022 attack against Paul Pelosi, who was 82 years old at the time.

And let’s not forget the lunatic fringe that went after Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer a few years ago before the MAGAt’s attacked the Capitol in D.C. This story ran in 2023.

October will mark three years since FBI officials announced they’d made arrests over a conspiracy to kidnap Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer. The government alleged a group of men, disgruntled with Whitmer’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, had organized a plot to kidnap the governor from a northern Michigan vacation home. The ensuing trials sparked debate over the rise of radicalism and domestic terrorism in the U.S., while defense lawyers argued the charges were a product of overzealous FBI informants and undercover agents.

Fast forward three years, and government, in both state and federal courts, has had mixed success in trying the men initially charged. 

The damage in Pennsylvania was extensive:

Back when I was in my 20s, I spend a lot of time in the Governor’s Mansion as an assistant press secretary to Republican Gov. Dick Thornburgh. It was there that a briefly met two famous people: George H.W. Bush, when he was running for vice president with Ronald Reagan, and the actor Jimmy Stewart. I even helped write the press release for Jimmy Stewart’s visit:

So, seeing the burned-out mansion really pisses me off.

And why isn’t anyone on the right saying this was an antisemitic hate crime? Josh Shapiro is Jewish. The attack occurred on Passover. The Space Nazi and his Orange Chia Pet keep raising the specter of antisemitism as the core motivation of every demonstration on college campuses. But this? Nothing.

Let’s go to the typical response when every right-wing nut does something horrible:

Following Balmer’s arrest, his mother Christie Balmer told CBS News that her son is “mentally ill”. She even claimed that he “went off his medication.”

Christie further said that she contacted four different police departments in an attempt to get her son “picked up” last week but “couldn’t get anybody to help.”

We could do things to treat the mentally disturbed, but the ketamine-addicted Space Nazi and his incontinent and senile Chia Pet are too busy trying to shut down everything that will help people with mental illnesses.
