From the Lexington Herald Leader:
Kentucky Congressman Andy Barr on Wednesday defended cuts made by President Donald Trump, asked for patience on possible tariffs on bourbon and other Kentucky products, and said the spiraling national debt meant the country had to tamp down on spending.
The Lexington Republican, in office since 2013, also told attendees at the Commerce Lexington luncheon to contact his office if there are concerns about federal funding cuts.
Barr is making moves to run for the Senate since the stairway-using- impaired Mitch McConnell has announced he won’t seek another term. So, it’s time to go to the people with money.
Seems it would make more sense to just get it from the apartheid-era-groomed space Nazi, who likely has the money Barr needs buried in his couch (shouldn’t say that too loud, since that means sexy time to VP J.D. “What’s-My-Name-This-Week“), to throw him a bone.
GOP reps have been running away from constituents ever since people, especially hardcore MAGATS (Make America Great Again Trump Supporters, pronounced “maggots”), are getting pissed off that everything that’s keeping them alive is being dismantled and destroyed.
By the way, what’s Andy doing in terms of town hall meetings for people who aren’t part of the Chamber of Commerce?
Barr said he would be holding a tele-town hall Monday night and had discovered during the first Trump administration that “live in-person massively attended town halls were shouting contests where people were really not respectful and were not listening to one another.”
Let me translate this for you: “I don’t want people yelling at me, so I’m going to screen every call to only get the questions I want to answer and if the caller is making a point I disagree with, I can hang up and go to a more sycophantic questioner.”
Again, for those who want to contact Andy’s office, click this link.
In the meantime, it will be interesting to follow Barr’s Federal Election Commission campaign finance page to see where and when the money starts rolling in. (Cue music!)
