USA Today says these are the top 10 art districts in the U.S.: ‘

Dallas Arts District — Dallas

Bronzeville Art District — Chicago

Warehouse Arts District — St. Petersburg, Fla.

University Circle — Cleveland

The El Paso Downtown Arts District — El Paso

Fondren District —Jackson, Miss.

Santa Fe Railyard Arts District — Santa Fe

East Market District (NuLu) — Louisville

River North Art District (RiNo) — Denver

Knoxville Arts District — Knoxville, Tenn.

Nu Lu is cool, but the best arts venue in Louisville only occurs in the first week of October:

An estimated 300,000 people showed up for this event in 2024, taking up four square blocks (including the front of my house), with more than 600 artists participating.

I’ve volunteered to help out every year I’m in town, and after the Kentucky Derby, this is the Louisville event of the year. If you’re at all interested in arts and crafts, this is where you want to be.

Sunshine Artist magazine ranks it the best art show in the country and it’s been active since 1957 My neighbors run the show, and it’s a great community event.
